At the crossing to the beach there are different opening times than at the sea chest itself. Then you are rudely pointed out that you are too early and even older people have to go back down the high stairs. The food tastes very good, unfortunately it is very clear on the plate and the price is peppery.

But what didn't work at all and was simply unacceptable is the tone with which you repeatedly sniffed at your paying guests who, in your opinion, did not behave in a corona-compliant manner. Fish at its best

For us, the sea chest is part of a holiday in Sankt Peter Ording, just like the pier and the beach. We always like to come here. This year we went to eat there twice. The first time there was crab soup for the starter and the main course pollack fillet or the cutter spritzer the second time madder soup or the matjestartar and the main course the salad with shrimp or a turbot as a daily recommendation that was filleted at the table. You can't say anything about the food. The portions are neat, the taste is perfect. The selection of drinks is also very good. Now to the service. Everything is actually perfect ... The service has a familiar atmosphere, everyone is on their toes, takes time for the guests, jokes with the little ones and is helpful. Corona rules are also adhered to very well and the staff ensures that you feel comfortable and safe. But, the signs in the outside area that indicate the correct amount of the tip were cheeky, I ignored them the first time and, as usual, gave my appropriate tip. That was fine with the waitress that evening. The second time there, the waitress (another male waitress) got really grumpy after the payment and, in her opinion, gave the tip that was too low with a "Thank you, how generous". The friendliness of the waitress towards me was gone. The other waitress also complained about me as a guest. I found it unsuitable ... if I am so keen on tips as a waitress, something goes wrong in my opinion ... Either the payment from the boss, or the attitude to the job ... It's best to ask in other service professions whether tips are common at all is. I like to tip, but as much as I think is right or as it fits in my wallet ... In summary: great food! Service generally also fits, but you can work on the point above. :) I think we'll be back anyway ;-)

Excellent food and competent and friendly service. You can enjoy a breathtaking view over the beach to the sea. The fish is also filleted at the table. Very good wines.

Seekiste from St. Peter Ording ... widely announced by some friends. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to have these perfect experiences. Except for the person responsible for us, the service was very attentive, helpful and friendly. Ours was unfortunately more listless 😕 The North Sea crabs are said to be legendary ... but at 1 p.m. there were no more. The starter was delicious ... and the salad was ok.
